Today we will know how you can use WhatsApp using WhatsApp proxy. How it works, what are its advantages and disadvantages, let's get started
Before we dive into Whtasapp proxy settings, let’s first understand what a proxy is. A proxy is similar to a VPN but has some differences. For example, your local network—whether it’s Jio, Airtel, Idea, Vodafone, or even your home or office Wi-Fi—creates an IP address. That IP address is how you are recognized on the internet when you surf or use apps. If the government blocks something, like the TikTok ban in India, your IP address gets recognized, and access is restricted.
A proxy allows you to connect to a server from another country. You can choose a proxy from Singapore, the US, Canada, or China, for example. The proxy hides your local network's IP address and provides you with its own IP address, allowing you to surf the internet through that proxy's IP. This process is similar to what a VPN does, but the proxy works specifically for the app or website you set it for.

Whatsapp Proxy Setting
You must have seen a new feature in WhatsApp. If you haven't seen it, then check out what WhatsApp has launched recently: Proxy Settings. You get this feature in the WhatsApp settings. Scroll down in the "Data and Storage" section, and here you will find "Proxy Setting" by default turned off.
A lot of people might be wondering: What is this feature? How do you use it? What is its purpose? Let’s talk about it in detail. My name is Imran, and you are watching my YouTube channel EF.
This feature is being rolled out in beta version first. So, many people may not have received it yet. You can update to the beta version through the link in the description. If you're on the beta version, you can update to the new version from the Play Store.
Why Did WhatsApp Introduce Proxy Settings?
WhatsApp is banned in many countries. Many people comment that they are using third-party VPNs to access WhatsApp in such places. WhatsApp introduced proxy settings to allow users to connect to WhatsApp through a proxy if they can't use it directly on the internet. For instance, in places where WhatsApp is temporarily banned during riots, you can use a proxy to stay connected.
Even in countries where WhatsApp is permanently banned, such as in some Arab nations, you can now use WhatsApp via proxies instead of third-party VPNs. By setting a proxy, you can connect to WhatsApp using a server from a country where WhatsApp isn't banned.
How to Set Up a Proxy on WhatsApp
To set up a proxy, go to WhatsApp settings, scroll to the "Data and Storage" section, and enable the proxy setting. You'll find an option to add a proxy. To find a proxy, search "Proxy Server List" on Google. You’ll get many websites with proxy server lists. Copy the proxy IP, paste it into WhatsApp, and save it. It may take a few moments to connect, but once connected, WhatsApp will work even where it’s banned.
Is It Safe to Use a Proxy on WhatsApp?
Many people worry about safety when using VPNs. WhatsApp assures that using a proxy doesn't change your security. Your chats, audio calls, and video calls will remain end-to-end encrypted, just like before. So, whether you’re using WhatsApp with or without a proxy, your data remains secure.
WhatsApp has found a way for people to use it even in countries where it's banned. However, governments might not be happy with this solution. Even in situations like riots where the government bans WhatsApp to prevent the spread of violence, proxies allow users to stay connected.
